Sony A7C: Our opinion
The Sony A7C's sensor results are impeccable and its autofocus system is excellent, but the viewfinder is far too small for a full-frame camera and the lack of touchscreen controls is frustrating. However, if you're looking for a small, lightweight, full-frame mirrorless camera, the Sony A7C meets your expectations. It would be a good choice for travel or street photography, especially if you like to compose images on a variable angle screen.
With its high-quality sensor and excellent autofocus system, the Sony A7C is capable of delivering great images and videos. Its small size is also interesting for street and travel photography. However, the kit lens is rather limited. Its 28mm wide point is not wide enough and its longest point of 60mm is not long enough, if you have used 24-70mm lenses for too long. At f/4-5.6, the maximum aperture also seems a bit average. We recommend pairing the A7C with a Sony FE 24-70mm f/4 ZA OSS to get a wider focal length range and consistent aperture, or with a small prime lens like the Sony FE 35mm f/2.8 ZA Sonnar T Carl Zeiss to get better depth of field control.
Given the build quality of the A7C, the small viewfinder seems ill-suited. Granted, it helps reduce the size of the body, but you don't get a full-frame shooting experience with it.
