Fujifilm's new X-H2S APS-C camera is packed with features and ready to take on the best cameras on the market.

At the end of May 2022, Fujifilm decided to unveil its new mirrorless camera: the X-H2S. This update marks 10 years since the release of the first X-mount camera.

To achieve this, Fujifilm creates a new camera that was missing from its extensive catalog. The Fujifilm X-H2S is positioned as a fast camera among other X-mount cameras with APS-C sensors and GF-mount cameras with medium format sensors.

The new 26.16-megapixel X-Trans CMOS 5 HS sensor is stacked to reduce rolling shutter effects. The accompanying X-Processor 5 also enables ultra-fast 40fps bursts and 6.2K 4:2:2 10-bit video recording internally or in Apple ProRes format.

The Fuji X-H2S has the capabilities to compete with the cameras used by sports journalists, wildlife photographers and videographers who have high demands.

If the ranges offered by the manufacturers differ, then the XH2S will be placed ahead not only of the OM-1 from OM System, but also of the models of its competitors that are equipped with 24x36 sensors. We are thinking of the EOS R3 from Canon, the Alpha 9 II (A9 II) or Alpha 1 (A1) from Sony, and of course the Z9 from Nikon.

Finally, we are waiting a little for Panasonic on this subject, even if we do not really know if the Osaka company will take the plunge and offer a camera dedicated to high speeds.
